Export Selection As Score

Version 01.33.00
Added 23 Jan 2010 (last updated 20 Nov 2020)

For use with Sibelius 7.1, Sibelius 7.5, Sibelius 8.x, Sibelius 18.x, Sibelius 19.x, Sibelius 20.x, Sibelius 21.x, Sibelius 22.x, Sibelius 23.x and Sibelius 24.x

Creates a score containing only the contents of the selection. It ensures that the instrument type, time signature, key signature, and clef at the start of the new score match those present at the same location in the original.

Updated 20 April 2010 to preserve special barlines at end of selection

Updated 10 June 2010 to delete all versions but the current one.

Updated 2 August 2010 to better handle file names with periods and without extensions.

Updated 9 October 2010. If run from a part, the part will be in view at the end. The other staves and parts, which will be empty, are still in the score. To get only the part as a score you should extract the part before or after running this plugin. Version 1.22.

Updated 11 August 2011 to save the score after removing unused bars so it will be the right size even if the user does not save it. Version 1.26.

This plugin ships with Sibelius 7 and later so use the shipping version

Updated 11 October 2020. Version 01.32.00. There are significant improvements so it is being made available for install after Sib 6. Installing it will cause it to be called instead of the shipping version. Be sure you do not already have a copy of this plugin in another user plugin folder.

This version fixes bugs that caused irregular bars, including pickups, to expand to full size, and for deleted rests to reappear. It will also restore systems hidden by Hide Empty Staves, which were previously unhidden.

For other plugins that may call this, it now returns the newly created score from the Run() method.

Updated 20 November 2020. Version 01.33.00. Fixed a bug where in some cases music in the resulting score was not deleted. The intention is that if you select parts of bars, or leave some staves in a system unselected, then the unselected portions of the first and last selected bars, and the staves outside the selections will be cleared of music. This fix will restore that behavior, while retaining the previous version fixes.
