See this thread:

The final entry by Sam at Sibelius states that they will inform us of their findings. That was over a month ago. Sam?

In it, John Melby states that he took the leap and all is fine. But he has a fusion drive and not an SSD. Therefore his installation of High Sierra did not include APFS, Apple's new file system. The crucial question is whether older versions of Sib will work, now that APFS defaults to case insensitive. I suspect so. But no one has confirmed it yet.

As of October 31st, the official word was that High Sierra was not supported.

http://avid.force.com/pkb/articles/en_US/Compatibility/macOS-10-13-High-Sierra

This probably does not actually mean anything, though, and is not all that helpful. Pretty obviously any version of Sib prior to the most recent version will not be updated, and is likely not to be extensively tested.

My understanding is that if you choose to install High Sierra with the *non* default case sensivitity APFS option, at least Sibelius Sounds playback will not work.

Philip Rothman's Scoring Notes blog has a post about compatibility at

https://www.scoringnotes.com/news/music-notation-software-macos-high-sierra/

It will be updated when he hears any news, but there has been none about Sibelius for a while. This is probably where I would look first, as Philip tends to be on the ball about this sort of thing.

For the most part, the High Sierra installer is going to decide for you whether or not you get APFS. For now, those with a fusion drive or traditional hard drive for their boot drive don't get it. But in the future that will likely change. Those who have an SSD get APFS, although you can prevent its installation using the command line according to this: http://osxdaily.com/2017/10/17/how-skip-apfs-macos-high-sierra/

When APFS is installed, it is currently installed case insensitive, which apparently is what Sibelius Sounds need to see. So my guess is that older Sib versions will just work. But we really need to hear word from someone who has tried it, especially if that someone is in Avid.

In the future, APFS will likely switch to case sensitive. Then Sibelius Sounds in Sib 6, 7, and early 8 probably won't work.

Also, in the future, Mac OS will not support 32 bit applications. That will be the end of the road for Sib 6.

I am about to upgrade from Lion to Mountain Lion, and I gather that Sib 7.1.3 will still operate. However, I am considering then upgrading to High Sierra. I'm afraid I don't understand all the technical jargon above! Presumably I shall have to upgrade Sibelius, but to what?

A few days ago I upgraded to High Sierra. So far Sib 6.2 is working fine for me. I haven't tested it extensively yet but it seems okay. I also have a demo version of Sib 7.0.3 which launches and works. I also have Sib 8.6.0, the last version I got before I bailed on my subscription. It too launches and works. So for me, no problems.

The only things I lost by upgrading the OS were a couple of older Apple applications: iPhoto (now superseded by Photos) and Logic Studio 8 (which is now on version 10 I think).

When another Mac OS comes out after High Sierra, it is expected to end support for 32 bit applications. (Sib 6.2 is a 32 bit application.) I will want to keep some 32 bit apps for some time so for me upgrading to High Sierra now was good. I get the latest OS, High Sierra, and it will remain supported by Apple for security purposes for some time.
