Hello,

Thank you for reading this thread. I changed my audio interface hardware today. Now when I launch S7 it is very slow to load, "initializing playback system" takes a long time to process about 15 seconds. Is that typical? I never had this experience on my other audio interface.

Using Win 7 Home Prem 64 bit OS. Intel i-5 quad core cpu, 16 GB RAM, Steinberg UR22 USB audio interface.

Do I need to reinstall S7? Is there something wrong with my installation?

Make sure that your new audio interface is selected in Sibelius "Audio Engine Options", then quit Sibelius.

Sibelius might be trying to find your old audio interface and failing.

For my money, I dont think 15 seconds is so very very long--

from an older thread http://www.sibelius.com/cgi-bin/helpcenter/chat/chat.pl?com=thread&start=452438&groupid=3&&guest=1 the following were suggested by Daniel:

"It could be that Sibelius is loading a particularly large playback configuration. Try going to File > Preferences, then the Playback page, and switch on the option to load a particular playback configuration when Sibelius starts, and then restart Sibelius. Does that improve matters?

"Try removing all your VSTs and then put half of them back. Does the program start up quickly? If so, take that half out again and put the other half in, and try again. When you find start-up slows down, take out another half of the current half, and so on, until you pin down what's causing the issue."
