How can I place breath marks which are apparent in playback/and exported MP3s for the choral works SATB, which I produce for choir practice ? I have tried fermatas but this doesn't influence playback. And of course this is more often than not required in the middle of a bar/mesure.

Have you tried a caesura? In 7.5, they now play back as a pause.

A breath mark (tick) also has some effect.

Breath mark bug in Sibelius 7.5. We've noticed this with NotePerformer playback as well.

If you at any point have a breath mark (comma) on a staff, lots of notes on that staff will be shortened.

To fix this, open the dictionary, go to symbols, press "c" until you locate the "comma" entry and set to "No playback effect".

That should do the trick!

Also for the fermatas pls see p 541 Sib 713 pdf ref manual and attachment--you may have been using the fermata in Symbols which doesnt play back.

Thank you everyone for this, all the comments are useful and 'work' however, the √, seems to be too short. Can one adjust the length of the √ and the cesura ? I know you can do this with the Fermata - I was in fact using the symbol - which explains no playback. Many thanks.

You can adjust the tick and the caesura by selecting them, and opening the Inspector.

The new playback capability of the comma is very useful to me and I have not yet had any issues with in choral pieces. However, from what has been said by Arne and others, is it a bug just waiting to bite? Is Avid aware of it? Simply disabling playback seems to defeat its purpose!
