How can I merge in an orchestra score automatically two instruments of the same family on the same beam and stem? It unclutters the score and it´s more easily readable. Both voices pointing up or down instead of one voice up and the other going down. I include picture of two bassoons done in Overture many many years ago.
I can do it manually but it gets very tedious in a large orchestra score.
Also, if you have intervals of a second between the 2 instruments Sibelius doesnt know which note to put first and messes up the stems. Also, triplets don´t respond to this. Finally, the parts would NOT need to reflect this placement necessarily. It would just be for the score.
Maybe wizard plugin Bob Zawalich would kindly help us all again please??
I appreciate your comments very much!

The wizard BZ wrote a plugin already for this. It's called 'Merge to Voice 1'.
But if that's the end result you want, why not enter them on one stem to begin with, as 'chords'?

Thank you Mark. I´ll try it but actually I don´t know how would that go since this happens in each pair of orchestra instruments, Horns I&III,II&IV, trombones , trumpets etc...and how would that reflect in each part?
I can´t find the ´Merge into voice 1´plugin , Sorry. I am quite new at all this...It doesn´t show up in the "Note input" plugins nor in the "notations" ones.....
I appreciate your help!!

To get the Plugin, Go to File > Plug-ins > Install Plug-ins, find "Notes and Rests," and install "Merge To Voice 1".
The new Sibelius staff decondensation features for parts can cope with notes on the same stem. I don't use a version that has this, but this is my understanding.
You said you are already manually merging, so "chords" is the end result of that process in any case, which is why I suggested you begin that way at note entry.

Thanks so much Mark! I´ll certainly try this plug-in and your suggestion about the chord entry to merge stems...lets see how the parts react to all this...
