Hi everybody,
I´m trying to find out if there´s a possibility to install and activate a Sibelius 7 (or 7.1.3 max)using my account of Sibelius Ultimate perpetual (2025).
I have an old Mac Mini (2010) and I run Mac OSX 10.6.8. I cant´update the OS, because my trusted Tascam FW1884 won´t work any longer, but for this computer Sibelius 7 would be sufficient.
I already checked that the latest Version of Sibelius that runs on OSX 10.6.8 is Version 7 and I downloaded the installation package from the Sibelius page. I installed it and everything works fine, but I only got the 30-day-trial-version. When I try to activate it with my activation key from Sibelius Ultimate it tells me "no valid activation key".
So maybe I´m wrong, but shouldn´t there be a way to downgrade and activate this older version?
I tried the Avid Support, but they only told me that it´s another activation process.
If anybody has tried something alike I would gladly know if there´s a way to get there.
Please note that you won't be able to use Sibelius Ultimate codes with Sibelius 7.x as it has a different activation ID pairing. For example, Sibelius 7.x will only work with Activation IDs starting with "SBAA" while Sibelius Ultimate activation IDs would usually start with "SBCC".
In addition, Sibelius 7.x could only be activated via Avid License Control.
This seems like a reasonable request to me. (As if my opinion matters to anybody.) It seems like Avid should be willing to provide a Sib7 activation key to anybody purchasing a Sibelius Ultimate perpetual license.
