Q: What is Avid's policy regarding support of Windows 10 now that Microsoft has ended support as of October 2025?
A: On October 14, 2025, Microsoft will stop supporting Windows 10. This means that they will no longer offer security updates or technical support for systems running Windows 10 (Win 10). In light of this, Avid will also stop testing and qualifying our software products on Win 10. Customers still running Win 10 should be encouraged to upgrade to Windows 11 (Win 11) and may be asked to do so in order to resolve Customer Care issues.
Customers are always encouraged to check products system requirements for Operating System recommendations on the avid.com Knowledge Base.
Customers that are running versions of software that still support Win 10 and have active support/maintenance plans will still be able to create a Support case to receive help from Avid Customer Care, however, we cannot guarantee we can resolve their issue.
Note that Windows 10 users in Europe (which seems to include the UK) have been granted a further year of free security upgrades. And it is very possible that pressure from American users for equal treatment may be successful.

Given that, it would make sense for Sibelius support of Sibelius on Win 10 to continue for another year. But this is Avid we're talking about.
There's nothing insane about using Windows. Over the years it has proved to be a kinder environment for Sibelius than Macs, where OS changes routinely make older versions of software unusable.
Sibelius 7.1.3, for example, works fine on Windows 11.
