Sibelius 2025.4 Now Available
Posted by Sam at Sibelius - 14 Apr 05:23PM
Hi All,

Hot on the heels of our releases in February and March, we're back with another update for Sibelius. The downloads are waiting for you in your account at https://my.avid.com/products and the update covers Windows, Mac, iOS and Android.

Thank you all for the feedback you've given us recently. We've logged it, and included as many of them as we can in this release.

You'll find a number of improvements across Score Subsets and Dynamic Parts, making it easier to add dynamics for the recent decondensing feature; plus a good slew of stability improvements, and much more (some dating back a really long time).

You can read all about it, here:
https://www.avid.com/resource-center/sibelius-april-2025-release

Enjoy!

Sam (and the Sibelius team)

Hi Sam,

Great updates! I was wondering if there’s a new Soundset Editor available for creating Soundsets compatible with Sibelius 2025.4 and Kontakt 8.3.0. I'm still using Soundset Editor v1.5.0, which, of course, still includes the Library ID selector. I haven’t come across any documentation on how Sibelius now identifies libraries by name—has that changed?

Thanks,
Alec

Hi Alec,

No new Sound Set Editor at this stage. One of the changes Native Instruments did was to move the library IDs for Kontakt instruments into their Native Access.xml file, located here:

/Library/Application\ Support/Native\ Instruments/Service\ Center

Each sound library comes with a unique library ID, which you'll find in the tag, for example the library ID for "Hemisphere Guitars" is R83.

Hope this helps!

Sam

Yay! Keep it up, ladies and gents.

Even though this is a comparatively more minor update, I love the attention to the smaller issues.

Any chance there is a new wildcard for whether the score subset is transposing or concert pitch?

I'm very glad that the grace note bug is fixed. That was a major problem for me. Thank you.

Yes, this is quite high up on the list.

Cool. That has been requested to be available for any score, subset, or part.

Hello,
I'm not sure where to report a bug, so I'm doing it here: the "decondense" feature does not work properly in documents created with the Moderna style.

merci

For assistance with your problem, you should start a new thread, rather than hi-jacking an announcement thread. Please provide full evidence of the issues, including attaching the Sibelius .sib score file which demonstrates the problem.

I can assure you that de-condense does work, regardless of House Style.

You may wish to study the instructions given here:

I already solve the problem

Seach in
library / preference:
com.avid.sibeliuss.plist

move the file to desktop
this will force sibelius to create a new file
