I am new to this group, so I hope I’m posting this the correct way – I would very much appreciate an answer. In Sibelius Ultimate and earlier versions, whenever I select the top system from one page to be included in the previous page, even when there is ample room for that system on the previous page, I highlight the systems and select “Make into Page”, and I get a stacked collision of all the systems on top of each other – which I then have to painfully untangle stave by stave. Is there any way of preventing this? I’ve followed all of ChatGPT’s suggestions, optimised spacing, set system spacing etc etc. Any help out there?
-thanks, Abe
Before you do anything else, turn on view-->invisibles-->layout marks and see if there are any of these showing previous 'keep bars together' or whatever can interfere with layout. If there are other layout marks, select all then unlock formatting [ctrl][shift]u, reset spacing [ctrl][shift]n, then try your make into page again.

Hi Mike,
Thank you so much for taking the time to answer my question. A couple of replies came in (Reddit Sibelius forum, Avid forum) and I have managed to solve the problem. I basically did everything suggested (unlock format, disabled auto formatting, justified stave setting to 100% etc. and perhaps it’s the combination of all these things that finally have solved the problem. Will go through each method one by one in the next couple of days to see which particular one was the essential fix. This has been a problem for some years now, and I have spent hours over this period, untangling staves that have been stacked on top of each other, so thank you again, for your help
