Imported midifile 16th off
Posted by Erich Strehler - 09 Dec 02:39PM
Hi everybody. I have been importing a midifile of a pop song and the whole music is exactly one 16th note off. Is there an efficient way to move the whole music right on the beat? Many thanks for any advice. Erich

Not easy. Notes that are broken and tied over barlines or beats will remain broken when copy-pasted. I'm sure there must be a plugin that will tidy things up afterwards. Look under NoteInput/Plugins/Simplify.

Select All then use Ctrl-Alt-Left/RightArrow to nudge it back/forward. Then Note Input/Renotate Performance to clean up the grouping.

Take it back into a sequencer program and align it there.

Many thanks for all replies. I think the idea with the sequencer works best. Bad that Garageband, the only one I got, does not allow the export of midifiles. So I will have to look for another one.

Erich: try Reaper to fix the midi files (free 60 day evaluation). It's usually easier to clean up midi in a DAW that fixing it in Sibelius.
