Updated plugins: Filter Comments (category Filter and Find, Version 01.22.05) and Go To Comment (category Navigation, Version 01.07.00)
Added or improved tracing of the Comment text to the plugin trace window. Thanks to Michele Galvagno for suggestions and impeccable testing.
If you want fancier formatting, Roman Molino Dunn will sell you his plugin Export Comments at https://themusictranscriber.com/product/export-comments/. There used to be a free version of the plugin to download, but it is no longer available.
Filter Plugins has a “Trace filtered comments” checkbox. If it is checked, any comments that are filtered will trace the text in the body of the comment. If “Filter comments written by” is not checked, the comment text will be preceded by the user name.
Go To Comment has 2 trace buttons.
“Trace List” will trace exactly what you see in the list. If the text is very long, it will be truncated to fit in the list box window, and at the end of each line you will see a set of 3 numbers, such as p2s3b23. This is shorthand for the page(p) staff(s) and bar(b) where the comment was found. The bar number in the text itself is the bar number where the comment was created, but the number is not updated if the comment is moved. The psb values are correct as of when the plugin was run. If “Display comments written by” is “All authors”, the text will be preceded by the user name.
“Trace comment text” is more like the output of Filter Comments. It will display the comment “body text” untruncated, and if “Display comments written by” is “All authors”, the text will be preceded by the user name.
