Unable to export multiple Font Styles to PDF

Hello all,


I have recently switched from PC to Mac, but when I now export to PDF I am discovering and annoying issue with certain of my favorite typefaces, and using multiple fonts within that same typeface (e.g. "Bold Condensed")--issues I did not have before with the same files on PC.

Everything looks and works perfect in my Sibelius score, but once exported or printed to PDF, some or even all Font Styles of certain font families are suddenly the same, regardless of the Text Style used.

This includes at least the following fonts:
- Bahnschrift (Microsoft) (all Font Styles)
- Crimson Pro (Google) (some Font Styles)

(1) It is important to note that I am talking about Font Styles within a certain typeface (and not Text Styles). So for instance: "Light SemiCondensed", "ExtraBold", "SemiBold Italic" etc.

(2) When looking at the Document Properties of the exported PDFs, I can see that only one Font Style is included.

(3) The exported PDFs all look the same regardless of the application that I use (I have checked Acrobat Reader, Preview, Google Drive, and Brave's built-in viewer).

(4) The Font Styles work as expected in other programs on my MacBook, including when exporting them to PDF.


I will attach two screenshots for clarification. Let me know if more info is needed.

As you can see in the first screenshot from the exported PDF, the texts on the left are all displayed with the same Font Style (in this case Bahnschrift Bold Condensed).

When looking at the second screenshot of the Sibelius project, you can see that it properly displays multiple different Font Styles for these texts.

The same appears to affect Crimson Pro ExtraBold (on the right).

This is a known problem with PDF Export in Sibelius version 2023.8 on macOS.

Thanks Robin, glad to know it was already on the radar. I am now looking at exports that I made in version 2023.7 and can confirm the issue wasn't there yet.

I just updated software yesterday (9/28/23) and am having the same issue. No bold text whatsoever is coming through on export or print. Big pain. Is it possible to reinstall a previous version? Will that be a temporary fix?
