Metronome marks

Using Sibelius 8 and Windows 10. Recently we have been unable to correctly use metronome marks. We've followed the instructions carefully, we can get =65 but cannot put a note in front of it. We must be doing something wrong or in the wrong order.
We've done this in the past, any advice would be appreciated.

To get a note, right-click during text entry, to get the context menu, and choose the note from the menu.

Thank you, that's what we had been doing but couldn't find a suitable note on the menu. We'll try again.
