Hallo,

In attached score I want to put in Expression text like Piano, Forte. When I click the blue mouse pointer, the cursor immediately dissapears and no text can be written. Strange.
In other scores it works fine. What to do?

Can you actually input F( orte). Because I cannot..when I click in the score, the cursor is gone..

Mmm, I think I found the reason, putting Forte on the Flute, no problem, but not between de staves of the Clavichord. Sibelius thinks this Instrument has no possibility to play piano and forte..???

To enter dynamics onto a grand staff instrument, select the top staff, then hit ctrl/e to produce the text caret for text input. Then, while still selected, nudge the text to a middle position. It should then be recognized by both staves. For z, you need to hold shft/alt/ctrl, else you lose what is already typed.

For staff-attached text such as "Expression":

If you are choosing the Text Style first, and then clicking the "loaded" cursor where you want the text to be, the location of that click must be the note to which you want the text to be attached: not some random white space in the score.

The alternate way of proceeding is first to select the note to which you wish the text to be attached, and then select the Text Style to be created: e.g. "Ctrl-e" for Expression.

For Expression text to apply to both staves of a Grand Staff, the Expression must be attached to a note or rest in the upper staff, and then dragged down to the vertical midpoint between the staves.

The default "Voice" for Expression text is '1', so by default an Expression or Dynamic will apply only to notes in Voice 1. If you want a Dynamic to apply to all notes, regardless of Voice of the notes, then, after creating the Dynamic, it must be altered to "All Voices" by clicking "All" on the Numpad.

Are you actually using expression text for your dynamics? Using, say, a system text object that looks, say, bold and italic, like dynamics will not put the text where you expect it to be.
