Identify all XML Instruments in large imported score
Posted by Vohtahn - 21 Mar 07:26PM
After importing a large xml score into Sibelius 2023 I found that it had added xml versions of instruments. Trying to delete these instruments and only use NotePerformer instruments I continue to get "can not delete as instrument in use" messages. Tough to find and change these xml instruments in a 4000 measure score when clarinets, horns, trumpets etc. change keys many times. Is there a way to "find" which instrument changes are using xml instruments? Thanks all!

I don't understand what 'XML version of instruments' are?

Perhaps it would be best if you attached the sib file to your next message, and explained precisely what you're trying to do.

Yes. I've begun picking all the instruments because of this. I uncheck having Sibelius pick the instruments while importing MusicXML.

Annoying that when it creates this MusicXML instrument during import, it removes or blocks the original instrument available in Sibelius. At least, for some of them it does this. So, I cannot load the Sibelius version of the instrument and copy over.
