Hello,

I use the open hi-hat symbol from the key pad, and I would like it to be a little bolder, would that be possible ?

Yes, it's a bit wimpy compared with the 'closed' symbol, isn't it!

You could edit the Symbol. Here's a relatively simple dodge. I've swapped in the lower-case zero from the Timecode font.

Save the Manuscript Paper or House Style for future use, of course.

(I think this was all the same in 7.1.3)

Thanks Laurence,

I'm actually not using the "closed +" sign from the keypad, there's another one in the symbol menu.

I'd rather keep the open sign a perfect round, but just a bit bolder to match the "closed +" sign.

Looks like you're in for a bit of font editing then! Unless you can find a character that suits you in the standard fonts.

You can use technique text for "+" & "o" which are very much more balanced with each other in size & weight. I guess they could be added to the playback dictionary to function as "+mute" & "-mute" (I haven't tried it tho').

PS. You can create a new text style for common symbols and increase the font size. Then edit the zymbols open/harmonic/above and open/harmonic/below, applying the new font to them. I've done this for most of my articulations and rhythm dots. I find Sib's zymbols generally too feeble for easy readability.

When I'm in this window, I'm surprised that there's no option to make this perfect round symbol just a little bolder !?

I cannot use the letter "o" because it isn't round. And at this point, I'm not sure I get how I could edit a font, etc.

I made this (attached) by creating a new text style for common symbols, increasing the font size, selecting bold and applying it to the zymbol for 'open/harmonic above'. Looks round and bold enough to me. I can select it either from numpad articulations or simply by hitting o on the qwerty pad.
