NotePerformer's alternate (2nd+) clarinets sound terrible. Just to get that out there.
The problem for me is that I use an Ossia Staff for a few measures where Schubert changes the melody on the 5th verse of the lieder I am transposing for Bb Clarinet. This causes NotePerformer to use the alternate clarinet sound which makes playback sound weird (like two different players are playing).
Is it possible to force NotePerfomer to use the same clarinet sound when playing the Ossia?
I've reconstructed your example and played back with NP. To me, the ossia clarinet sounds the same as that on the regular staff. For playback, you of course need to select the ossia notes and apply 5th time only in Play On Pass, and 1st thru' 4th times for the same passage on the regular staff.
I am afraid, my screenshot belies another problem: I probably created the ossia in a backassward way. The second ossia was created on a third line (so my score looks all jacked, and I do not know any better way to handle it).
With that said, I will come clean with my ignorance and share the ugly file. Specifically, the ossia starting on measure 25 plays back with the alternate clarinet timbre.
*ashamed*
I guess I have a couple of other questions:
1. How would I "correctly" create these alternate measures? (I don't want an ossia staff that shows the entire piece for those few measures.
2. Is there a way to jump to repeat Y without having to play through it X number of times? In this case, I jumped to the end and rewound it. But there have been other times that I would have liked to just jump to a repeat and go from there.
At bar 25, the first two notes of the ossia have the correct Play on Pass setting, the rest of them don't. Select the entire passage and try again!
There are two timeline displays available, showing an 'unwrapped' map of the score. There's a crude one in the Transport panel, just pull the slider. Crude, but surprisingly useful! Or there's the full-blown Timeline panel. Click in the lower part to move the playback line.
I actually channeled my inner Robin and read the manual concerning using ossia, and corrected my method of entry. In doing so, I did, in fact, adjust the playback tick boxes. (Though I could not figure out why NotePerformer will not playback the slur in the ossia measure 8.)
Thanks for the insight on the timeline. I knew of the timeline but never used it for anything. Now, I will.
