Is there a way to create the guitar chord (fretboard) diagrams that look like the ones I've attached, in the "Edit Chord Diagram" dialogue box, without having to create extra shapes or characters and move them manually into place on the diagram?
And if it can't be entirely done in the "Edit Chord Diagram" dialogue box, what's the easiest way to create these? (I have over a thousand that need to be created.)
Well, you can't have non-adjacent dots connected by the barre line (slur looking thing), so you can't get everything in the chord diagram editor.
If you want these things to attach to a chord symbol, the only thing that comes to mind would be to create a diagram with everything except the barre line, and then figure out some way to use a symbol or line (maybe create shapes in an SVG editor like Illustrator or InkScape and create a symbol from them?). There do not seem to be ready-made symbols to use, though you might possible figure out a way to rotate parentheses or brackets.
Once you have symbols you can drag them in place, but they will not stick to the diagram, so I would add the diagrams after layout changes are done.
You could combine 2 chord diagrams by putting on top of each other. This way the layout can be preserved.
The red collision color won't print, for the pic I turned off magnetic collison colors.
(I personally can live with the default way Sibelius shows the diagrams anyway)
