Hot on the heels of our release last month, we have a new version of Sibelius releasing today. We're including two new features and a few bug fixes caused by the September release.
In this release, you'll find:
* Make Into Part command. This greatly streamlines the procedure to make a new part with any combination of staves. Just select the staves you want and a new part is instantly created taking into account the Instrument names and new Staff names.
* Automatic dynamics text styling. When entering expression text, Sibelius is now smart enough to automatically style dynamics strings such as pp, ff, mf sub. etc. without needing to use the Ctrl/Cmd key shortcuts. The old method still persists if you prefer that workflow, and this automatic behavior can be toggled with a new preference.
* Paste as Cue now includes the instrument name once more after this broke in the release last month.
* The new example scores that were missing on desktop have now been included: Lili Boulanger's Vieille prière bouddhique and Bach's Partita No. 3.
This update spans across all tiers of Sibelius on all our supported platforms and is available to those with a current subscription or update and support plan.
Thank you for "Make into Part", function, which should be very helpful for me.
But I have problems to activate my copy, button is dead and when I enter the licens and activating code in avid link, it says that I did that too many times or so.
Just wondering. In 'make into part', does this function automatically reset staff size to suit the number of selected staves? I also see in the blog, that all the selected instruments are listed in 'Instrument name at top left'. What's the point? They are already listed as staff names at the head of the score. If I wanted to make a sizeable duplicate transposed full score (say 20 staves or more), instrument name at top left text would fill much of the left hand side of the page overlapping the regular staff names and possibly left hand staves too. I'm also wondering why this operation is done from the home tab rather than the parts tab. And why do you have to search for it in command search?
