Something very weird is going on in a specific Sibelius file I am working on (snippet of the file attached, enough to show the problem):

In Engraving Rules, on the Staves page, at the very bottom the vertical value for optimising staff spacing is set to 3. When I change it to 1 (or any other value) and close the dialogue, Sibelius would not let me keeping this value. It always jumps back to 3. This happens in this specific file, not in others.

Importing a different House style would solve the problem, but I don’t want to do this (for obvious reasons).

I even tried to export this file into an older version (Sibelius 7), and yes, in Sibelius 7 I can change the value, but once I open it again in 2021.2 it wouldn't let me anymore changing it again.

So I wonder whether somebody here in the forum ran into the same problem and knows the "culprit" part of Engraving Rules which seems to cause this behaviour.

Hi there

This is a mysterious one.

If you apply the Engraving Rules category from one of the shipping house styles, the problem will go away. Unfortunately, it will overwrite any settings that are different from that style, so you'll need to re-apply them.

If you have either a) another score with the right settings or b) an earlier version of this score (maybe in the back-up folder) that doesn't have the problem, you could export a house style from it, and import it into the malfunctioning one.
