No snare drum sound

I can't get a snare drum sound in the Drum Set (Rock) instrument.

I have Sibelius 2020-12 Ultimate, installed Sibelius Ultimate Sounds and have run the Sounds 7.5.1 update. With an x note-head I get a side-shot, but with a standard note-head or back-slashed note-head I get no sound.

Any suggestions?

You need to check your staff notes (pitch & notehead) against those on the drum map for your kit.

I'll attach two scores - the first is from the original score that has the snare drum problem, stripped down to just a five bars of drum kit. The second is a copy of the same five bars inserted into a new score, in which the snare drum plays as it should. Obviously there is something different between the two files but I can't find it.

Any advice would be appreciated.

In "Drum kit problem", the Drum Map for the Drum Set instrument:

1. has no definition for notehead type 12 (backslashed note) on the 'C' space of the staff;
2. the definition for notehead type 0 (standard) on the 'C' space is configured to be unpitched.exotic.silence

Therefore, in both cases, you get silence.

Thank you Robin. I've never been into the Drum Map editing screen before so I have no idea how or why it was corrupted. I've now fixed the two definitions and it's working fine. I appreciate the help.
