smaller accidentals?
Posted by Aestive - 20 Oct 09:37AM
Hi there,

I was wondering if there's a way in Sibelius to alter the size of accidentals to show that they're editorial and not in the original score. I found one thread in this forum mentioning that one could repurpose the quarter-tone accidentals and make them smaller, but I believe quarter-tone accidentals are only available on Sibelius Ultimate, which I don't have unfortunately.

In the Sibelius 2020 reference guide, I found the following info on p. 443:

"Small accidentals
Accidentals automatically go small on cue notes and grace notes. But if you want a small acci- dental on a normal-sized note, create the accidental from the More Options dialog at the bottom of the Notations  Symbols  Symbol gallery and choose Cue size or Grace note size before click- ing OK. Beware that accidental symbols will not automatically play back or transpose."

I can't seem to find the symbol gallery... is this also only available on Sibelius Ultimate? Or am I completely missing something here?

Any help would be much appreciated!

Best,
David

You need Sibelius Ultimate for what you are trying to do.

The cut-down varieties of Sibelius are made by removing everything from Sibelius Ultimate that is powerful or useful.
