Are Your Plugins Up To Date? compares the version number of downloadable plugins you have installed to the version numbers of plugins on the download page and writes out a report to tell you if you have the most recent version. It has always been hard to update the information needed to know the versions of the download page plugins, so the plugin has not been updated very often, and has gotten out of date. So now would be a good time to give it a try.

I rewrote the plugin to get the comparison date from a data file that will be installed with the plugin, and I plan to update the data file more often, though probably not more than once a month. This does beat every year or 2, though.

I note that this will not give you information on all the download page plugins, just the ones with a specific version number format. All the plugins I write have a version number, and at last count I had 433 plugins on the download page, so this will check a large proportion of those plugins.
