I teach large ensembles of beginner brass and woodwind students. I arrange some songs for the class but I'd like to include fingering diagrams with some 'new' notes as I introduce them.
I've found two really nice free fonts to produce clarinet and saxophone fingering diagrams but I'd like to find one for flute and trumpet. Does anyone know of any?
Is it possible to include these kind of things in the next version if Sibelius?
Just wanted to let flutists know that there is a flute fingering font. It's good for teaching, I write fingering above the notes on sheet music or exercises It's especially good for notating multiphonics, glisses and trills.
I note that the downloadable Tin Whistle Fingering plugin (http://www.sibelius.com/download/plugins/index.html?plugin=325) will take a font where a fingering maps to a single character and will apply fingerings to pitches. It was designed for a specific font, but if your instrument has a 2 octave range or smaller, the plugin could map such fonts.
It looks to me as if the flute font uses multiple characters for each fingering, and may require rotation, so I doubt it would work with the plugin.
