We are now offering two types of training sessions:
Sibelius Beginning session
- Getting Started: opening files, look and feel of Sibelius, and playback
- Creating a score: choosing manuscript paper, instruments, and housestyle, plus adding bars, time signatures, and key signatures
- Basic note entry: using the mouse, keyboard, and Flexi-time™
- Beginning editing: selecting object, moving, copying, pasting, and repitching
- Marking up your score: adding expressions, techniques, lyrics, and more!
Sibelius Intermediate/Advanced session
- Advanced editing: engraving rules, editing text styles, lines noteheads, and staff types
- Using plug-ins and filters
- Formatting, layout, and part extraction
- Using Scorch™
- Arranging
- Scanning with PhotoScore™
- Creating tests, exams, and worksheets

Ten music labs across the north east of the USA will host these training courses and will be run by top music technology clinicians with years of experience with music educators. Intermediate Sibelius:This hands-on course, led by Sibelius clinician Marc Schonbrun will take you through the finer points of Sibelius. You'll learn about formatting, score properties, the "Arrange Feature", as well as more advanced features like Sibelius's plug-ins andadvancedfilter. Prerequisites for this course are a solid understanding of the basics of Sibelius, including the"Create" menu, basic saving, printing and playback. Pro Tools in the Classroom:This hands-on course, led by Sibelius/Digidesignclinician Marc Schonbrun, will introduce you to Pro Tools, theindustrystandard audio/midi recording suite and how it can help your classroom teaching. You'll learn the basics of audio recording, microphones, thesignalpath, effects, busses, automation and bouncing.
