2007 Winners & Runners-up

The Sibelius Student Composer Awards for 2007 were a resounding success! Over 200 entries to the competition were received and the overall standard of the compositions was nothing short of inspiring. The Awards culminated in a concert on July 28th at the Sydney Conservatorium. Winners and Runners-up were announced and their compositions recited by Ensemble Offspring.

Special Thanks!

The success of the Awards and the concert would not have been possible without the contribution of many people. A huge thank you to Damien Ricketson and Claire Edwards who, as well as judging competition entries, assisted with co-ordinating the rehearsal workshop and the concert. To Roland Peelman who conducted the finalist workshops, rehearsal and concert. To the remaining judges, Katy Abbott, John Argyle, Anne Boyd, John Foreman, Paul Grabowsky, Bohdan Krowicky, Ian MacDonald, Ralph Middenway and Peggy Polias, thank you!

Thanks also to the Sydney Conservatorium for providing a perfect venue for such an occasion. And to the guys from Digidesign for assisting with the audio recording of the concert.
