Compass extra scores
In Sibelius Compass, the Tracker’s menus include 1200 motifs (motives) which you can use when composing. Here are notated guides to many of the motifs found in the menus. You can use these as reference material when deciding which motifs to use in the Tracker, or you can even save them as Sibelius 3 files, so you can copy and paste the motifs when composing with Sibelius 3.
Follow the links below to view the motifs as notation. Then click the print icon (just above the page of notation) to print them out, or the save icon to save them to disk as a Sibelius 3 file.
See the Part Box section (in the Tracker chapter) of the Compass User Guide for more information about the motifs and how to use them in the Tracker.
To view the scores you will need the Sibelius Scorch plug-in.
The scores are grouped according to the menus the motifs are found in:
- Chords menu: two-chord cadences, three-chord cadences, and jazz three/four/five chords
- Pitch shapes menu: two-note, three-note down/repeat/up, four-note and five-note
- Scales menu: exotic scales
- Rhythms menu: length 2 rhythms (two to five notes), length 3 rhythms (two to six notes) and length 4 rhythms (two to five notes).
