Sibelius and ASCAP Foundation Sponsor First Edition “JaZzcap” Showcase
Event Showcases Up-and-Coming Young Jazz Musicians
The ASCAP Foundation, with support from Sibelius Software, presented the debut of JaZzcap, a musical showcase featuring the work of young jazz composers and performers, April 25, at The Cutting Room in New York City. Performers included The LeBoeuf Brothers Band, The Sherisse Rogers Group and The Bob Reynolds Quartet.
The ASCAP Foundation has been dedicated to nurturing gifted composers and preserving the American musical legacy through diversified educational, professional and humanitarian programs for more than 25 years. Sibelius has sponsored the foundation's Thru the Walls events since 2001, and supports ASCAP through its involvement at annual new membership meetings held throughout the U.S.

Good group, good music: the performers at ASCAP's First Annual "JaZzcap."
Prior to the show and between sets, Ernie Jackson, Sibelius Ambassador and Director of the Guitar Ensemble at Wagner College of Staten Island, N.Y., demonstrated the company's latest composition software.
Saxophonist Bob Reynolds is a graduate of the Douglas Anderson School of the Arts in Jacksonville, Fla., and Berklee College of Music, Boston. As a college student, he performed at New York's Blue Note jazz club, the Monterey Jazz Festival, the Kennedy Center, and also toured throughout Europe and Japan. Reynolds is currently based in New York City where he performs as a leader and sideman, and as a touring member of the Jonah Smith Band. He has also appeared with Brian Blade, Aaron Goldberg, Gregory Hutchinson, and Bob Brookmeyer.
Philadelphia native Sherisse Rogers discovered her passion for composition while writing charts for the Cal State University big band. After eight years as a saxophonist, she picked up the electric bass, and maintained a steady freelance playing career while still in school, performing with Patrice Rushen and Mike Clark. Rogers has also written for Dave Liebman, Peter Erskine and others, adding to her growing repertoire of big band and orchestral music. She holds a Masters degree in Music in Jazz Composition from the Manhattan School of Music, and has recently completed recording her new CD, Sleight of Hand.

The LeBoeuf Brothers
The Le Boeuf Brothers, saxophonist Remy and pianist Pascal, are natives of Santa Cruz, Calif., and are currently students at Manhattan School of Music. Remy and Pascal were members of the High School Grammy Ensemble, performing with Chick Corea, Clark Terry, Gary Burton, Jeff Hamilton, Dave Koz, Eric Marienthal and others. Both brothers have been recognized with numerous awards for performance and composition, individually, and with their combo Deuces Wild. They have appeared at the Monterey Jazz Festival, the San Jose Jazz Festival, the Stanford Jazz Festival, Jazz at Pearl's in San Francisco and Kuumbwa Jazz Center in Santa Cruz. Pascal and Remy were among the national winners of ASCAP's Young Jazz Composer Awards, and were selected to play original compositions on the bill with Marian McPartland at the awards ceremony.
"ASCAP is home to some of the greatest names in jazz, from legends to newcomers," said Bill Reilly, President, Sibelius USA, Inc. "Sibelius is pleased to support the ASCAP Foundation and the opportunities it provides young performers."
