Sibelius does its homework and unveils 'Student' Edition at an exceptional price

Sibelius Software has announced the release of the eagerly awaited Sibelius Student Edition, which will allow thousands of music students throughout the UK to benefit from the power of the award-winning Sibelius 3 at home for the exceptional price of £99 + VAT.

Sibelius Student Edition, which has been produced for anyone studying GCSE , AS and A level Music, will allow students to continue working on their compositions at home and then bring work back to school.

Based on the full Sibelius 3 package which is now used in over 50% of UK Secondary schools, the new Student Edition offers an affordable and compatible solution for writing music at home. Files created using the student edition can be opened in Sibelius 2 or 3, making the process of moving work between school and home a breeze.

The Student edition, which is to be released this December, boasts many of the main features that have made Sibelius the choice of schools, composers and teachers throughout the world. Notation can be input in seconds via mouse, MIDI or computer keyboard. Lyrics and other text can be added in seconds, and scores can be transposed automatically. Students can even publish their music on the internet thanks to the Scorch internet browser plugin, and can produce professional quality print-outs of their scores.

With an array of musical symbols such as rests, accidentals, triplets, dynamics, slurs and trills included, as well as a complete range of time and key signatures, Sibelius Student Edition provides everything that's needed for successful composition at GCSE and A Level.
