Sibelius Software Ltd announces the appointment of David Harvey as
Chief Technology Officer

Sibelius Software Ltd (Sibelius) is delighted to announce the appointment of David Harvey as Chief Technology Officer.

David will be working as part of the executive team on all technology issues and will manage the research and development team, spearheading innovation and new technology and ensuring quality. He takes over these responsibilities from Jonathan Finn who will now involve himself in wider innovation and development.

David joins Sibelius from UBS Investment Bank where he played a leading role in the design, implementation and architecture of advanced technologies and services. David also has an extensive musical background, with a D.Phil in Music from the University of Oxford and many years experience as a composer and performer.

Background

David has spent the past eight years working in international financial institutions, the last five at UBS Investment Bank where he was a Technical Architect. Before this he spent two years as a consultant with Object Designers Limited, where he also designed and presented training in programming and software design.

David has a considerable musical background. His doctoral thesis on the music of Elliott Carter has been published and he has taught music theory, analysis and composition at the universities of Oxford and Reading. He has performed extensively as a solo guitarist, and is also active as a composer, having recently completed an Associated Board commission for a new examination series.
