Sound sets for Sibelius 5.0

Please note that if you have Sibelius 5.1, all these soundets are already included with the program.

Download sound sets

The following sound sets are currently available for download:

• Sibelius Sounds Essentials
• Sibelius Gold
• Sibelius Gold Eco
• Sibelius Rock and Pop
• Garritan Jazz and Big Band
• Garritan Jazz and Big Band Lite
• Garritan Personal Orchestra
• Virtual Drumline 2.5

Note that downloading a sound set does not make these sounds available to you. Trying to use a sound set for a device or sample library that you do not own will produce incorrect playback and other error messages.

Installing a sound set

To install a sound set:

• Download the sound set you want, and extract the archive.
• One or more XML files (e.g. Sibelius Essentials.xml) will be extracted.
• Copy the XML file or files to the following folders:
  • Windows XP: C:\Documents and Settings\your username\Application Data\Sibelius Software\Sibelius 5\Sounds
  • Windows Vista: C:\Users\your username\AppData\Roaming\Sibelius Software\Sibelius 5\Sounds
  • Mac OS X: /Users/your username/Library/Application Support/Sibelius Software/Sibelius 5/Sounds

(You may have to create the Sibelius 5 and Sounds folders yourself.)

To use this sound set inside Sibelius, use the Play > Playback Devices dialog. See 4.10 Playback devices in Help > Sibelius Reference for more details.
