561: Download Kontakt Player 2.2.4

Native Instruments have released Kontakt Player 2 version 2.2.4, which is a newer version than the one included on your Sibelius 5 DVD-ROM. Improvements in this version of Kontakt Player 2 include:

• Improved compatibility with Mac OS X 10.5 Leopard
• Multi initialization bug fix
• Wallpapers are now correctly recalled
• Instrument loading times improved

Further details of the improvements can be found in the Readme.txt file installed along with Kontakt Player 2 (on Windows, in C:\Program Files\Native Instruments\Kontakt Player 2 by default, and on Mac, in /Applications/Kontakt Player 2by default).

You can download the latest version from here:

• Mac: Kontakt Player 2 2.2.4 OS X.zip (71MB, approx. 20 minutes at 512Kbit/s)

You should install the Kontakt Player 2 update after installing your Sibelius Sounds or third-party (e.g. Garritan Personal Orchestra, Tapspace Virtual Drumline) sound libraries.

Be aware that on Windows, you are given the opportunity to choose the location into which the Kontakt Player 2 VST plug-in should be installed. Ensure that you choose the folder that Sibelius is set to use for virtual instruments and effects, by default C:\Program Files\Sibelius Software\VSTPlugins.
