604: Error when installing older Sibelius Sounds libraries

Problem

If you have Kontakt Gold or Rock and Pop from Sibelius 4 or Sibelius Sounds Choral and World Music from Sibelius 5 and would like to use them with Sibelius 6 you will have to install Sibelius Sounds Essentials from your Sibelius 5 DVD first.

If you don't have Sibelius Sounds Essentials from Sibelius 5 you may get the following message when attempting to install:

Please install Sibelius Sounds Essentials first that contains the necessary Kontakt Player 2 playback engine.

This is because these updaters and installers are looking for Sibelius Sounds Essentials from Sibelius 5.

Solution

Step 1:

Install Kontakt Player 2.2.4

Step 2:

• Download this Registry key, and save it to disk, e.g. on your Desktop
• Double-click the downloaded Registry file
• When asked if you want to add the contents of the key to your Registry, click Yes
• Click OK when informed that the contents of the key were successfully added.

Step 3:

Run the Kontakt Gold, Rock and Pop, Choral or World Music installer again.
