569: Kontakt Player 2 loads sounds while Sibelius starts up, then loads more sounds when I open a score

If you see sounds loading into Kontakt Player 2 while Sibelius starts up (a series of gray progress bars will appear on top of the blue Sibelius splash screen while the program loads), then you have inadvertently saved a playback configuration with sounds loaded into Kontakt Player 2. This is undesirable, since Sibelius always loads the sounds it needs whenever you open a score, so any sounds that it loads while the program is starting will be discarded as soon as you open a score anyway.

To solve this problem:

• Close any scores you have open.
• Choose Play > Playback Devices
• In the right-hand Available devices list, select KontaktPlayer2
• Click Show to show Kontakt Player 2's main window
• In the large panel to the right of the window, you will see a number of sounds loaded: click the little 'X' in the top right-hand corner of each sound's individual panel to unload the sound
• Once you have unloaded all the sounds, close the Kontakt Player 2 window
• Repeat this procedure for any other Kontakt Player 2 devices you have in your playback configuration
• Click Save and then Close to confirm your changes
