466: Kontakt - 'Can not find a valid Sibelius 3 Installation, Please install Sibelius 3 before installing SibeliusPlayer Gold'

Problem

If you have Sibelius 4 installed and would like to install Kontakt Gold from a Kontakt Gold CD version 01/04 or 02/04 and don’t have Sibelius 3 installed you may get this error message:

Can not find a valid Sibelius 3 Installation
Please install Sibelius 3 before installing
SibeliusPlayer Gold

This is because the version of Kontakt Gold on the CDs labelled 01/04 and 02/04 only looked for Sibelius 3 and not Sibelius 4 and therefore it won’t install.

Solution

• Download this Registry key, and save it to disk, e.g. on your Desktop
• Double-click the downloaded Registry file
• When asked if you want to add the contents of the key to your Registry, click Yes
• Click OK when informed that the contents of the key were successfully added.
• Run the Kontakt Gold installer again from the Kontakt Gold CD
• Once you have done this you should run the Konktakt Gold updater which can be found when browsing your Sibelius 4 CD at: D:\English\Kontakt Player Gold

If you find it does not work then please contact technical support with your full computer spec and information about where your version of Sibelius is installed.
