451: Problems with MIDI input on hyperthreading Windows computers

If you have a hyperthreading Windows computer and are experiencing a problem with MIDI input causing Sibelius or G7 to crash and you have an M-Audio interface such as a MIDISport or a MIDI keyboard such as the Oxygen8 (other devices from other manufacturers may have the same problems) then we would recommend two things:

  1. Check the website of the device manufacturer to make sure you are using the latest driver.
  2. In Sibelius or G7 go to Notes > Flexitime Options and in the Flexitime tab tick the box labelled Enable MIDI time stamps (for dual processors or timing problems).

Please note that the option only applies to computers with a dual processor chip and will therefore be greyed-out on other Windows computers.
