433: Using a second monitor / what to do with an old computer / Sibelius and Maxivista.

If you have a second older computer or laptop connected to your main computer via a network and you are unsure what to use it for you might want to consider using it as a secondary monitor for your main computer.
There is a program available called Maxivista from Maxivista.com which lets you do exactly that. You simply need two computers connected via a network and it then uses the network connection to show the second monitor as a secondary display on the main computer.

We can confirm that this does work with Sibelius 3 so you can therefore stretch the Sibelius window over two screens to see more of your screen simultaneously, or to have somewhere to put the keypad, navigator, properties panel, mixer, Kontakt window etc. Please see their website for more details on how to purchase and set it up.

Please note that Sibelius 1 and 2 are not quite as clever with their floating windows (e.g. the navigator and keypad) as Sibelius 3 and therefore prefer those windows to stay on the primary monitor.

At time of writing Maxivista is PC only.
