428: How to play different 'Vamps' under solo sections.

If you have imported a MIDI file which has different vamps under each soloist, or you want to Flexi-time different vamps under each soloist whilst still maintaining the 'look' of the score as a single solo section or lead sheet with the appropriate repeat markings then try the following:

  • Make sure that the notes played the first time through are in voice 1 and in the Playback Properties Panel tick the Play On Pass box for 1st time through.
  • Put the other 'vamps' that you have imported or Flexi-timed into a different voice (2-4) and tick the appropriate Play On Pass option for those notes.
  • Then, one section at a time, filter out the notes from the other vamps and copy them - you can now paste them under the original voice 1 notes.
  • While the notes are still filtered and selected you need to use the Hide option in General Properties Panel, or the shortcut Ctrl+Shift+H

For a lead-sheet-look you could also just put the chord symbols and slash symbols in voice one and all the notes hidden in voices 2-4.
