412: Save As Audio Track - WAV or AIFF file produced, but is silent when played back

If the WAV or AIFF file produced by File > Save As Audio Track is 0 bytes in length or silent when you play it back through e.g. QuickTime Player or Windows Media Player, you're almost certainly not playing back any staves through the Kontakt Player device. Try this:

  • Go to Play > Devices.
  • Set the Use column to Yes for Kontakt Player, and to No for *every* other device.
  • Click Close.
  • Open the score from which you want to produce a WAV or AIFF file.
  • Open the Mixer window and click Reset Sounds, then Yes.

Now start playing the score: before you hear any sounds you will see a number of progress bars flash across the screen as the samples are loaded. Open Window > Kontakt Player and verify that as the score plays back, the names of the instruments appear in the slots at the top of the window, and they flash along with the music as each note plays.

If all of this is true, then you're good to go. Choose File > Save As Audio Track, and that's all there is to it.
