291: Text does not play back although the word is entered in the playback dictionary

If you are entering words on your score, e.g. to change the sound of a staff by writing Pizz or Mute, but the text appears to have no effect, then the Interpret during playback or Playable option may not be switched on for that text style.

In most instances recreating the text in a more appropriate style will be the best option, but it is possible to edit the text style instead. To do this go to House Style > Edit Text Style, select the text style you are using (e.g. Boxed text) and click Edit. Make sure the Interpret during playback/Playable option is switched on, then click OK to accept the changes.
