262: Keyboard shortcuts - defining new shortcuts for text styles

The File > Preferences > Keyboard shortcuts dialog includes a large number of text style shortcuts called e.g. Text style 32. You can use these to assign key combinations to new text styles and to some predefined text styles.

In Sibelius 3, you can use these plug-ins to determine the number of any text style in a particular score.

If you create a new text style in a score created in Sibelius 2, it will be numbered Text style 49; the second text style you create will be Text style 50, and so on.

You can also assign shortcuts to the following predefined text styles:

Text style no. Corresponds to
36 Plain text
37 Lyrics verse 3
38 Lyrics verse 4
39 Lyrics verse 5
40 Figured bass
41 Fingering
42 Boxed text
43 Small text
44 Lyrics above staff
45 Nashville chord numbers
46 Footnote

Do not try to assign shortcuts to other text styles numbered between 1 and 48. Also, the above text style numbers will not work with scores created on Sibelius 1.4 or earlier, unless you import text styles from one of the Sibelius 2 house styles first (see your Upgrading to Sibelius 2 booklet).
