222: Instruments - defining a new instrument

Although Sibelius 5 has an exhaustive list of more than 600 built-in instruments, you can easily create your own instruments using House Style > Edit Instruments. If you haven't already upgraded you should do so now!

Further information on defining new instruments in Sibelius 5 is available in the Layout & engraving > Edit Instruments section of the Sibelius 5 Reference.

If you're using an older version of Sibelius, you'll have to rename the closest available instrument. Please refer to the Instruments section of your User Guide for more information.
