159: Creating objects - objects are added to the score before clicking the mouse

Because the method of creating objects is different in Sibelius 2 (and later) than in Sibelius 1.x, you will find that objects such as lines, clefs, key signatures, time signatures, symbols, text, and so on, are all automatically created next to the selected note rather than waiting for you to place them with the mouse.

If you want to place objects with the mouse, change the option in the File > Preferences > General dialog (in the Sibelius menu on Mac OS X), and switch When you create an object to Click the mouse to position it.
