Sib. 6.x: Missing Fonts Posted by Robert Bartholomew - 09 Nov 07:47PM Hide picture Something happened! Now all my scores are opening with no text at all. I find I can go to "House Style - Edit All Fonts" and select Baskerville or other fonts but my usual fonts - Georgia and Times seem to be missing. I have tried deleting Sibelius and re-installing it from the installation disc, then restarting my mac but to no avail. These fonts are on my mac and useable on other programs such as Pages etc. What do I do? Thanks in anticipation. Rob B Back to top | All threads

I've tried it, following you instructions to the letter but the problem is still with me. Georgia is definitely on my mac but Sibelius can't see it. In screenshot 1 you will see that the text (Title, Instruments, Composer, Lyrics) are present but only in a very tiny form. The text should be Times New Roman. If I go to "House Style" - "Edit All Fonts" and select Baskerville (for example), the text is returned to normal size. I now also find that if I double click on the tiny text, it returns to normal size. However, some of it comes up in musical symbols rather than proper text. (See screenshot 2) The same thing happens with my own, original, scores in which I usually use Georgia as my preferred font. These scores open perfectly properly if I drop them onto a flash drive and open them on my partner's PC, meaning that there is no corruption to the files themselves. Rather, the fault is with the Sibelius software on my mac. Thus, when I say, "Sibelius can't see it", I mean that Sibelius doesn't appear to be able to use Georgia or Times (or possibly other fonts)in an accurate way. This problem materialised after I had downloaded Sibelius Ultimate for a 30 day trial period. When the 30 day trial expired, I dragged the trial software into the Trash and emptied it. Use the facilities of the macOS to create another user account. Sign out of your own account. Sign in to the new user account. Launch Sibelius 6 and try opening the sample score. Hi Robin, I've done as you say regarding Recovery Mode - First Aid but there has been no change. Out of interest I've just downloaded Sibelius First and my old scores open fine in Sib First but, of course, only ones with limited parts, so it's not a viable fix. That's what's on the installation disc. Here's a thought:- I said I had deleted Sibelius and reinstalled it from the installation disc, earlier in this process. In fact all I did was to drag Sibelius into the trash and empty the trash. Is there a proper, complete un-install process I can use to completely wipe the program before re-installing it from the disc? I can't find such a function in the application contents. N.b. This leaves untouched in place, for each user account: - the Preferences .plist file for Sibelius 6; - the "User Editable Files" area containing many user settings. and - the installed Sibelius music fonts, which are global to all accounts. But I did see this way to restore mac fonts and wonder if it would solve it: https://support.apple.com/guide/font-book/restore-fonts-that-came-with-your-mac-fb34862/8.0/mac/10.13 However, I am worried this might remove Sib fonts and possibly others that you would then have to reinstall.
