I have tried to make manuscript keep my preferences but this has also not worked.
I appreciate the pride Sibelius has in managing 'espressivo' and puts it in pride position as default but I would request that in the next update for Sibelius, please, please, please make mecanico the default for performance not espressivo. I believe notation programmes should start from a place of precision as the default.

Maybe because you are on Sib 5.1 and Mac OS Tiger 10.4. These are so ancient now that I am very surprised you have a machine to run them. Especially with Apple's policy of stopping support for all 32 bit programs. You've done very well to keep it running this long.

I have checked with Sibelius 5.2, and a Manuscript Paper saved with "Meccanico" creates new scores with "Meccanico" set. If you are not seeing this, then there must have been some mistake in your work-flow.

Ive just updated my signature. Thanks for checking with the older versions. I presume you might have checked to see if it could work for my setup as follows?

Sibelius Ultimate MacOS Monterey version 12.4 MacBook Air (13-inch, Early 2015) processor 1.6 GHz Dual-Core i5
Memory 4 GB 1600 MHz DDR3 Graphics Intel HD Graphics 6000 1536 MB
Here is my work flow:
I created a score for piano solo.
I changed performance to mecanico.
I then exported the manuscript calling it piano mecanico.
When I then used that manuscript to start a score the setting was espressivo, not mecanico.

I cannot reproduce that issue. Using Sibelius Ultimate 2022.5, a Manuscript Paper previously saved with "Meccanico" always produces scores with "Meccanico" set, not "Espressivo".
