Backstage on MacBook Pro Silicon M1 Monterey
Posted by John Fletcher - 18 Jan 09:08AM
My car is being serviced and have 3 hours in their waiting area. I am using Sibelius for the first time on my MacBook. I get into the Backstage area, but am not able to enter any text into the boxes. Clicking in the box doesn't activate the cursor.

Neither can I download new plugins as the down-arrow is unresponsive. Otherwise Sibelius seems to be working OK.

Is this another slight glitch with Sibelius and Monterey?

Cheers,
JohnF

False alarm. I am new to laptops. It appears a simple reboot has solved it. I can now enter text into the Backstage, and I have downloaded a couple of plugins.

I'm not sure whether Mac users have more of a culture of 'standby rather than switch off' than PC users, or whether there's really a weakness in the Mac system. Either way, an actual power down seems to cure all sorts of problems!

At least a re-boot doesn't take long on today's computers with SSD drives.
