We're pleased to announce the immediate availability of our September release of Sibelius.
This brings much of the technology and new features we introduced in the recent iPad app, and more:
* Multidimensional gesture support for the Keypad
* Searchable galleries
* New ManuScript capabilities for text, symbols, lines and cross staff beaming
* Video sync and other improvements
This is the first in a series of releases across the Sibelius platform that we'll be revealing over the coming weeks. It's been a pleasure being back in the land of Desktop after our hiatus that took us off to create our new iPad app - sorry it's taken us so long to deliver this initial update. More news as we have it.
You can download the new update from the usual places. Log into Avid Link on your computer and you'll find the update waiting for you in the Products tab. Alternatively, you can download the update from your account at https://my.avid.com/products
If you need to renew or crossgrade up to the latest version, you can find the options, here:
Should the new update appear in the Sibelius About section after I have installed it? It says I have installed it in my products page but still reading 2021.2 in the About Sibelius pull down menu. Also, how do I find what versions of Sibelius Sounds I am currently using? How do I know if I need the 7.5 updater or not? It will not seem to download for me so I guess that means I already have it?

Check Avid Link and it will tell you the version you're currently on. There's a button to update Sibelius there too. Follow the steps and it should work fine.

> Should the new update appear in the Sibelius About section after I have installed it?
If you are referring to Sibelius ribbon tab "File" -> "Help" -> "About Sibelius", then: yes, this will display the version of Sibelius that you are actually running at that moment.
> It says I have installed it in my products page
Please attach a screen-shot of what you are seeing.

There is no way of directly reading a version number of an installed Sibelius Sounds sample library. The version number can be inferred from the latest date of last modification of all the "patch" files within the library itself.
> How do I know if I need the 7.5 updater or not?
The version 7.5 sounds updater is out of date: the most recent updater is version 7.5.1. No harm is caused by running a sounds updater that is not required: it just updates the same files again.
> It will not seem to download for me so I guess that means I already have it?
What is meant by "will not seem to download"? What happens when you try? Show us a screen-shot of what goes wrong.

Sibelius 2021.2/7.5.1/7.1.3/6.2/5.2.5, PhotoScore Ult 2020.1, Windows 10 64-bit 16GB. Desktop, and Microsoft Surface Book.
Another query which in a way relates to my last. Is it possible to run Sibelius on a solid state drive? Is it recommended (i.e does it improve how the program works or not really)? Because this problem has arisen due to Sibelius always defaulting updates etc. to my normal hard drive. You were correct, I had an older version on the solid state drive.(red face emoji) and thanks so much for your help.
By all means run the sound library from an SSD as that will show an improvement in speed (loading times etc) but the improvement to program running is minimal.

The only things that are worth putting onto an SSD drive are the Sibelius 7 Sounds sample library files. There is very little point in putting the Sibelius.app application on an external SSD.

Hi I've updated to the latest version of Sibelius Ultimate and I'm now getting messages to upgrade to windows 11.... Will Sibelius Ultimate run on Windows 11 or should I stay with Windows 10? Many thanks
