It seems that inputting certain characters here prevents the reply from being posted or the thread from being created.
Also a character amount limitation seems to be in place.
Does anybody know about what these limitations precisely are?
I write posts meant for here in Word, so I can cut and paste when I am refused entry, without losing what I meant to say. I avoid all punctuation other than commas and periods.
Sometimes it just works anyway, and I get suckered in.
This is a relatively recent problem. It did not always do this.
This and the silly Avid menu the fills the screen are perhaps subtle indications that we are not welcome here.

I certainly hope that that is not the case Bob, and that it is just poor web design.

Not to mention the silly Avid footer that sits on top of attachments to which we are supposed to respond.
It's simply highly irritating and constantly distracting to say the least. I shall refrain from expressing my feelings using Anglo Saxon language because I will for sure get barred from this forum!

And if Avid aren't capable of designing a simple forum website, why do you think they are capable of designing anything else - like music notation software, for example?

Rob,
LMFAO!
Perhaps Avid should pursue an alternative business venture such as home made jam!
I like the 90s Compuserve look. Money shouldn't be blown on fancy web design, it should go where it's needed: the bloated salaries of Avid upper management.
Avid didn't design this forum. It's a legacy from the old Sibelius days. Avid wanted to replace it with the same forum format they use for their other products. Some of us were worried the message base - a valuable resource - would be lost. We were assured it wouldn't be. Nonetheless, we were allowed to keep our old, rather clunky forum, but with an Avid wrapper. (I guess someone at Avid didn't quite believe the message base would survive either :-)
The wrapper's a nuisance. But I don't think it would be clever to make too much fuss about it.
