How to upgrade from Sibelius 2020.6 to 2021.2

I need to know exact details of the process for updating Sibelius Ultimate to version 2021.2 starting from the downloading of the installer. (Including details such as whether to just run the installer over the top of the already installed version (2020.6) of Sibelius on my computer and also details of how to negotiate the activation process.

If you are worried about detail, just do everything inside the Avid Link application, where the process is automated for you.

Since you have already activated Sibelius, you do not need to activate it again.

I never use the Avid like unless I have to.

I did make sure I was logged in, then I downloaded the updater from my Avid account. Once downloaded, I ran the updater and everything just did its thing. 2021.2 is running perfectly. I did not have to reactivate.

Just run the updater. Say 'yes' when prompted. Warning, on some computers it can be painfully slow and show 'not responding' for considerable periods. Hang in there!

Now I need to know (having updated Sibelius to 2021.2) is there any need to update Sibelius 7 Sounds to Sibelius Sounds 7.5

Which version of the Sibelius Sounds sample library did you install? Might it not already be version 7.5.1? If you don't know which version you installed, roughly in what year did you install it?

When you are using version 7.5.1 of the sample library, it is still used in Playback Configuration "Sibelius 7 Sounds" : the playback configuration doe snot change it s name with changes of version number.

Thanks Robin for the quick reply.
I originally installed Sibelius sounds in June 2019 I thought that I could update Sibelius Sounds today because a file appears on the download page for Sibelius 2021.2 with the name 'Avid Sibelius Sounds' but when I click on this link I get a page with two versions for Mac. Can you tell from the date of my original installation whether Sibelius sounds needs updating?

FYI I attach a screenshot of the page I visited to get the Sibelius 2021.2 download file which had the enrty "AVid Sibelius Sounds" dated NOV 6 2020

You should not be downloading (potentially obsolete) versions from that site for current projects. You should download what you need from your own account at http://my.avid.com/products
