I am running Sib 7.1.3 on a Macbook Pro El Capitan (2016)but need to update the operating system from El Capitan as my laptop is acting strangely, though it does not effect my Sib. I love Sib 7.1.3 and don't want to update it, but I need to know can I safely upgrade the Operating System to Sierra/High Sierra/Mojave? Which one would you recommend? Any help here would be fantastic. Thanks

The last macOS that could run Sibelius 7.x was macOS 10.14 Mojave, although that combination was not officially supported by Avid. I guess that will not worry you, as (a) you are already running Sibelius 7.x on a macOS too new to be officially supported by Avid; and (b) Sibelius 7.x is officially out of support.

'Acting strangely' won't necessarily be cured by an os update.

Ive been assured by three different Apple experts that it will...I'm having problems with the inbox in Mail where my "mail quits unexpectedly" happens all the time.

I'm currently using Mac OS 10.14.6, the OS that would be appropriate for you. I have been having problems with the mac app store. It just spins when I try to download a new app or update an old one. Apple hasn't been able to help me fix it yet. Neither have internet suggestions.
